Job Summary: The Security Officer is responsible for protecting the premises, assets, and personnel by maintaining a high visibility presence and preventing illegal or inappropriate actions. The role requires vigilance, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to respond swiftly to any incidents or emergencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patrol and Surveillance:
- Conduct regular patrols of the building and grounds, both during and after business hours.
- Monitor surveillance equipment and alarm systems to detect any unusual activities.
- Ensure all access points, including doors and windows, are secure.
- Incident Management:
- Respond immediately to alarms and incidents, including medical emergencies, fire alarms, and other crisis situations.
- Conduct investigations and report suspicious activities, security breaches, or other incidents to the appropriate authorities.
- Assist law enforcement when necessary.
- Access Control:
- Manage access control systems, including checking identification, issuing visitor badges, and maintaining logs of visitors.
- Monitor and control access at building entrances and exits.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare and maintain accurate reports and records, including daily logs of observations and activities.
- Document incidents and provide detailed reports to management and law enforcement as required.
- Customer Service:
- Provide assistance and guidance to visitors and employees, ensuring a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
- Address inquiries or concerns and escalate issues as necessary.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications in security or law enforcement are advantageous.
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency in operating surveillance systems and other security equipment.
- Physical fitness, including the ability to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods.
- Valid Texas security guard license.
Working Conditions:
- Flexible availability, including the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions during outdoor patrols.
